I think that would be a good idea to develop such type of tools to define the title block, the frame page for the diferent type of sizes and for the creation of drawing objects like tightening screw table instructions, welding table instructions, painting specification block, etc. Bellow I have attached the official web for the poeple that is interested on it.Īt Qelectrotech the user can create his own component symbols and the title block for the drawing. Qelectrotech is also developed using c++ and Qt, as FreeCAD TechDraw WB. I mention the Qelectrotech software because I think that this software can be a base for the development of the templates and symbol blocks on the 2D drawings. Qelectrotech is an open source software writed on c++ and, as FreeCAD developers, the actual work from the developers is to port the software to Qt5. There is any intention to implement the creation of templates and symbols on TechDraw WB? There is any developer team that is working on it? I would like to help if someone is working on it.Īs, at mechanical engineering FreeCAD is the open source alternative for mechanical and architecture design, at the electric and electronic engineering field the alternative to EPlan for the creation of schematics is Qelectrotech. As disadvantage I also have found that the title block is part of the template, at FreeCAD there is no frame objects and title block objects. At FreeCAD, I have found instructions to create the drawing templates using Inkscape, a procedure that is not conforatble for the user. At all these softwares you can create the drawing templates from the same software.

As enginner I know programs like Inventor, solidworks, AutoCAD and EPlan.
